Recommended Posts

Yay I finished 2 full weeks on my liquid diet. I am now allowed to eat more... Went food shopping today and it felt great to buy something like sugar free pudding and mashed potatoes and farina. I start tomorrow. How the hell am I supposed to eat 70grams of Protein when I can only eat 3 meals a day??? How do you guys do it? Ohh and let's not forget the Vitamins and 64 ounces of water!!!!

I eat several small meals a day...found this drink called Power Core (36 GMS of protein)...use that as one of my meals on the go.

I always still drink a Protein Shake a day...

I will also drink zero carb Isopure Protein Drinks

Unjury has an unflavored Protein you can add to your foods.

If there are smoothie kings were you live, you can get a 20 oz gladiator drink...45 grams of protein...you can sip on it all day, or I have done 1/ and frozen the other half for the next day.

Protein drinks....I have a variety of Isopure, Syntrax, and unjury, and my shakes can count as part of my fluids. I drink Water or Decaf tea throughout the night. I add Unjury chicken flavor whey Protein to a lot of my foods, and Unjury unflavored to others. Then I maximize protein in my meals. It is quite the orchestration to get all of this to work.

I didn't eat non Protein foods. I stuck with soft Protein, fat free Greek yogurt, split pea Soup, protein drinks and nonfat dairy.

Right now unjury also has a Protein cheese sauce...... It OK...and will work if you want o add some to eggs...its fake...but douable.

I tell ya...you really have to figure out a whole new way of eating and figuring out how to get all of your Water in. Your always eating or drinking something.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
