amino acid supplements for workouts?

Recommended Posts

I have tried modern but never for the same reason as I use XTend. XTend is a during and modern is a post workout drink which I use GAT muscle martini for. I like the muscle martini better than the modern. Modern doesn't taste wery good to me at all. The ratios differ for the purpose. Drink that modern after and the Xtend during.

I don't know. Not really a fan of the taste on the modern. What kind of results do you get from GAT? Looks like a really good product after pursuing their web page.

I like it. Of all it seems to cut recovery the most. I can definitely tell if I missed a day for some reason.

Can you compare and contrast modern BCAA with GAT for me based on your experience and general knowledge?

To be honest I would say they are comparable aside from taste. GAT tastes better. None are as good tasting as Xtend but GAT is better than Modern. I have been using GAT for a while now so remembering the modern is hard to do. I may still have the modern, met me check.

This sounds strange but meijer store brand amino is awesome AND cheap. $12 for 60 servings and I found no loss using it for a month that I couldn't afford GAT, C4, 2 cases of Isopure bottles AND XTend so u cut the GAT and went the meijer route.

I think meijer is more of a general product retail type store of products in the midwest. At least that is what I gather from looking at their website.

Tried taking the modern after working out yesterday and feel great this morning. Very little soreness remains that I felt yesterday evening. I also took some this am on rising. From my understanding, it is best to take at those two times for recovery purposes. I will use the xtend per and intra workout as well as on rest days. I think the modern does a better job at recovery than xtend, but I have only one day of experience.

Well you own it now so might as well drink up! If you don't get the results your looking for just drink more of it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
