Use a heating pad, keep taking your pain pills if you still have any and all will be well. Welcome to banderland.

Just follow the post op instructions your Doc. gave you and it does get better , if you can't sleep laying down then try a recliner or chair you feel comfortable in then maybe you can sleep for a few hrs. at a time , take your pain meds it will help if they gave you any , before you know it , you will fell like you again , then as you start to feel better you will also start having more energy than you thought you had, good luck on your journey.

I as well am really sore especially on my port side, I woke up this morning and my stomach muscle on my port side felt like it was being ripped out. Very intense pain unexpected because I have been feeling pretty good before. It been 16 days and I have been following my pre op plan. Only lost about 10 lbs . Hopefully, I will be able to start getting active again soon, I feel disabled right now, not being able to do much of anything or I will be in pain. Its got to get better. I don't want to regret this surgery.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
