Hi All,

Just wanted to give an update on my progress. It's been six months and I am feeling great. I've lost 57 lbs and continue to lose. I will go to the doctor on tomorrow and get my measurements. I have had to purchase all new pants because everything falls off. I've gone from a 18W to a 16. While the sizes do not reflect a big difference the way clothes fit makes all the difference in the world. I will keep you updated. I plan to post a after picture in the next two weeks. Keep up the great work everybody.

CW not sure but I have gained weight...I went off the 1800 calorie diet.

I have to try to get back to that weight if 241. Have anyone experienced extra skin following the rapid weight loss.

Okay? Can anyone advise me what I should bring to the hospital with me the day of surgery, Feb. 24th? How long is the typical hospital stay? Does the area where the incisions are fade over time, should I use any specific type of cream? Sorry, I have so many questions that I hope to get answered before surgery.

Bring lose fitting clothes that's comfortable. Hospital stay 1 to 2 days depending on how your doing. Make sure you walk as much as you can before you leave to prevent clots. No cream is needed and incisions will fade. I call them my pokes. Your questions are great ones everyone that has had this surgery has wondered the same thing. Relax and you will be so happy you have taken this journey. I have no regrets.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
