Sherylnkent 2 Posted January 11, 2014 I'd just like to experience one more orgasm. I'm guessing the lack of an orgasm is due to medication ie anti-depressants. I have a wonderful hubby who tries EVERYTHING! Helping myself doesn't work either... So is an orgasm important or should I be happy with just the touchy feely thing? jallsop 39 Posted January 11, 2014 It is true that certain prescription medications can cause decrease in sensation as well as libido. Maybe a discussion w/ your PCP is necessary. Good luck! 1 Sherylnkent reacted to this
stacey131 51 Posted January 15, 2014 SSRI antidepressants shut me off like a light switch. It is very common and why I can't take them! Doesn't leave much of an option
Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted January 16, 2014 Yep, I went off of my SSRI because of that reason. Once I started exercising regularly, I didn't need them. Do you think you could be happy with just touching and cuddling? That's something only you can answer.
SuperFab 689 Posted January 16, 2014 I take meds for bipolar disorder and I don't have any problems having an orgasm or three, but when I was on regular antidepressants it was like taking me to the finish line and not letting me cross it. Horrible.
Zoumommy 61 Posted January 16, 2014 It's the antidepressants, , Im on Cymbalta for Migraines and without a vibrator I would never have one, some of it is between our ears too
SuperFab 689 Posted January 16, 2014 Cymbalta was the worst! And Zoloft. Now I'm on abilify, lamictal and tegritol and am a happy camper.
Zoumommy 61 Posted January 16, 2014 It is but I have chronic daily Migraines (get Botox injections every 3 months) and Cymbalta works so its a trade off
SuperFab 689 Posted January 16, 2014 It is but I have chronic daily Migraines (get Botox injections every 3 months) and Cymbalta works so its a trade off I took it and Neurontin for neuropathy pain from a spinal injury until I started taking Lyrica. It was like a miracle drug. No more walking using a walker. The Cymbalta made me unable to orgasm and it made me sweat excessively.
Busymomof3 181 Posted January 17, 2014 I've been taking SSRI's for 10 years. I've no problems with manual orgasms, it's my husband that turns me off
SuperFab 689 Posted January 17, 2014 I've been taking SSRI's for 10 years. I've no problems with manual orgasms, it's my husband that turns me off I couldn't. Heck, I'd wear my vibrator out first.
