Kinda cheated........... :(

Recommended Posts

Well not kinda....I guess I did. I went out to eat with a friend at a new Japanese restaurant. I was good and bypassed my favorite sesame chicken because it was fried. However my meal (Kung Poa chicken and Veggies) came with 1 fried wonton, 1 fried shrimp, and 1 egg roll. I 3/4 of the wonton, the shrimp, one bit of the egg roll, and a few bits of the main meal. I did stop when I felt full...............I am just bummed that I gave into the temptation. I did stay away from the fried rice but next time I need to see EVERYTHING that comes with my dish. If the food wouldn't have been on my plate it would have been much easier. I am really hoping to get below 220 tomorrow......that is my first goal. The next is under 200 and so on and so forth. OK had to confess thanks for listening.

The sun will rise tomorrow and the earth will still spin on it's axis.

You're fine! You got this.

I think that things could have been much worse...It could have been a McDonald's hamburger and fries....You ate only a little of each thing and stopped when you were full...You ate mostly the Protein and left the other stuff out of it...

So you enjoyed a meal out...watch the fried stuff yes but You didn't really cheat badly....Or really at all in my books....

Tomorrow, if you want to eat fresh and clean and all will be right with the world.....I know I have a different view then most people but I think that we still have to live here and exist here and eat here and learn to eat here as well...

I think you did pretty good myself...I don't want this journey to be another failed diet for me..I am not restricting myself to salads and Protein shakes...I am going to eat a chicken wing if I want it..And That's how I feel about it..Now i will get off my soap box!!!!!!!!!

I'm pretty sure, of course I don't know you (but I do know me), if that was before surgery you would have eaten every last bite on your plate, reached over to your friends plate to finish theirs and ordered desert.....right!!??? Think of this as an accomplishment, you only had a few bites....that's the key! Don't be down on yourself, just move forward and make better choices the rest of the week. Only good things to come....congrats!

The key to success is never to give up, even when we do things we probably shouldn't. I know that's what I did in the past - wth, I ate that crap so I may as well eat more....

You didn't do that, you ate small amounts and your sleeve did its job, it stopped you eating more. That allowed your brain to catch up and acknowledge what you'd done.

Now leave it behind, eat clean going forward and there's no real harm done, just a lesson learned. Onward and upward!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
