Texasmeg 568 Posted January 11, 2014 Since I've quit eating regular food (and am on my post-op "full liquid" diet), I have noticed: 1) Every other store location is a restaurant or grocery. 2) A large percentage of posts on Facebook are about food. 3) Magazines include lots of articles about food. 4) There are a lot of tv shows about food. It's not that I'm hungry - I'm not. It just seems to me, as someone who is not eating, that everyone else is obsessed with food.

joatsaint 2,814 Posted January 11, 2014 I know what you mean, we just become more aware of the food around us. I do the same thing when I get a new car, suddenly I start noticing every time I see the same model all around me. I think America is obsessed with food - on my basic cable tv channel lineup there are at least 3 channels dedicated to food and cooking, the history channel and discovery channel have shows about food history, food at holidays, the best places to pig out, the most exotic/expensive/biggest places to eat. I think only in America do we Celebrate pigging out. 2 Texasmeg and Memily reacted to this
Carlotta1 401 Posted January 11, 2014 Yes..I usually go to bed around 1:00 every night and around 11::00 pm I seei so many commercials from the fast food industry. That prob makes sense ..they want u to get in your car late at night..go through their drive thru. And eat a 4th meal. It is insane. food is such a biff affair for all cultures. When I visited Europe I was surprised in Italy and Germany with their love affair of food. I loved the German food the best of the 6 countries I visited .. But omg. ..high fat. 1 Texasmeg reacted to this
