Would it be ok to do half my Isopure & Half G2?

Recommended Posts

I used the enjoy Isopure fruity drinks but lately they turn my stomach...do you think it would be ok to split half Gatorade(G2) and Half Isopure? I'm sure it's fine but wondering if for some odd reason it would effect the Protein by diluting? Now that I type this it's sounds like a dumb question but I have a whole case I don't want to waste and I think G2 will cover the taste and I have some in hand.

If it works go for it...If not return to G2 1/2 and 1/2 with Water....Make sure to try to reach your teams Protein intake goal....It is the back bone of this surgery and your body will stop losing to protect itself if you take in too little...K :)

I've diluted mine with Water and added a single serve Crystal Light packet to some of them to make them taste better. I like the apple-melon just the way it is, though.

I diluted Isopure (aka Isopuke) half and half with G2 or essence Water, it was the only way I could choke it down. I always met me daily goals for Protein, carbs, etc. so it worked with my plan/

I mix my Protein drinks with whatever makes them go down. This morning I mixed strawberry powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury (21 grams protein) with Crystal Lite Lemonade, and right now I am working on a chocolate Extreme smoothie (35 grams protein) to which I added a sugar free fudgesicle. Don't judge  .

Awesome thanks guys! I usually drink 2 Premier Proteins for 60 grams then get about 10-15 through my food which is right on target but I'd like to use up some of this Isopure! It's funny how for the first month I enjoyed it but ugh it's sour and makes me acidy but at $3/bottle I better finish it! Lol!

Awesome! Unjury HQ is very close to where I live and they actually came to my surgeons support group in November! They encouraged mixing too and they even had some recipes and one was the strawberry with lemonade! I can't seem to get into the shakes that I have to make...I even had a hard time with Syntrax. Glad I like the Premier tho sometimes I should mix it up!

Where can I get Premier Protein? ?

The only places I have found it is SAMs club or costco. I bought a SAMs membership just for the premier shakes.

Where can I get Premier Protein? ?

I just got a BJs membership half off on Zulily bc they also carry it and I prefer the kind with the red top so my lips don't get all chalky lol and costco carries the foil top(not a big deal honestly but since i got such a great deal in the membership price I bought in they are also slightly cheaper at SAMs & BJs...I've seen them also in four packs at many grocery stores, Harris Teeter, Giant to name a couple and Walgreens sells them online!

I LOVE the idea of adding the sugar free fudgicle! Wish I'd thought of that when I was in the liquid phase. I did eat the fudgicles during that time, but it never occurred to me to add them to a shake. No judgement here :P

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
