Nice bikes, Betty! You don't know any good single Harley guys do ya? lol

My brother and his wife ride too. He has an Ultra Glide and one of my mini goals/NSV's was to get on his bike with him, which I did back in June.

My sister in law has her own bike too. She thinks I need one, which I would love, but since I take coumadin, probably not the best idea. :D

Thanks for the pics!! It's so nice to put a face to these words that we become so attached to. :( Pretty lady.

Thanks Y'all! That is my baby! We rode most of yesterday, and all day today. I had a couple of days off work, so we used it riding. We are going again tomorrow too! It gives me a lot of exercise, and I can certainly use that!

OMG! Your bike is exactly what I want! And you are one cool biker mama. I love your dark hair. :D

Those are great pics. You'll have to post one of you all "leathered up" next.

I was trying to remember if you have a date yet???? Boy, I wish I could remember things! (and I'm applying for a master's degree program next week -- sheesh! -- old age sucks!)

Those are nice bikes!!! I love to admire Harley's but would be terrified to really ride one. There is a really cool biker bar in the town I live in (very small town) and it is one of my favorite places to go and eat. They have these huge booths and the best food and the bikers there are actually just wonderful people. I like to admire their bikes in the parking lot too. Thanks for sharing! Teresa

Thanks everyone!

My Doctor's appointment is Sept. 28th! I am hoping to get him to set a date asap! Of course I have to like him, but I have only heard good things about him.

Rebecca - I do have a leather jacket, it is black with red flames and a lot of fringe. I also have some leather chaps with fringe for the cold weather. That is about all the leather I have though, but it comes in handy when it gets cold.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
