Recommended Posts

Ok ladies is there any body lotions that help firm the skin as we loose weight or with cellulite? ? I know it's all in ones genes but something anything that minimizes and helps with the skin. Thank you all!!

I've heard Nivea Q10 is supposed to help, I haven't tried it yet but I plan to :)

I switch off using cocoa butter and the Nivea 10. I use it every morning and night all over. It seems to be helping. I still have some loose skin, but after 100lbs, with 80 being in the last 5 months, I think my skin is holding up pretty good... No matter what, I expected to have some loose skin :-(

Nothing works :-(. I take collagen as there is some minuscule data that shows it helps. But don't get your hopes up and waste money

I have two that I like. Malibu Hemp Self Tanning/Firming Lotion - http://i.walmartimages.com/i/p/00/07/63/51/11/0007635111260_500X500.jpg It tans you very slowly and it's one of the better smelling self tanners, in my opinion.

When I don't want something that smells a lot, I use Jergens Firming Lotion http://www.jergens.com/products/daily-moisturizers/skin-firming-daily-toning-moisturizer.aspx

During the shower, I exfoliate with a sugar scrub and gloves. After the shower I use shea butter baby oil (or aloe baby oil gel) a few times a week or just use the Jergens.

I don't know if it really does firm my skin, but I do know it keeps it soft. Plus these lotions aren't expensive and it sure can't hurt!

I'm using organic coconut oil and my hubby keeps commenting on how good and soft my skin feels. Not sure if its helping with the elasticity though.

Do you use the coconut oil in the shower or after?

Do you use the coconut oil in the shower or after?

I like the jar of coconut oil sit in the shower with the lid on while I'm in the shower so the hot steam melts it so it's like oil. Then I apply to my skin after I get out of the shower and dry off. I have noticed a big difference in how soft and moisturized my skin feels.

I use Olay moisturizing body wash in the shower, and after I use Aveeno positively ageless firming body lotion.

Does it help? I don't know. Does it make me feel better? Yep!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
