use the search function at the top of the page and put in hair loss or hairloss or Biotin

There TONS of threads around here about it and I think the consensus is that bypass patients usually have worse trouble with it than bandsters. I'll try to dig up one of the threads and put the link here.

DH read an article and was telling me about it with the regards to Hair loss. The article stated that the hair loss was mainly due to lack of important B Vitamins including Niacin, Thyamine, etc. However, there are problems when you get too much of a good thing also. I have also read that a lack of Zinc can also contribute. I guess the bottom line is make sure you are supplemented well. Who knows?

I experienced some Hair loss about a month post-op. It wasn't a lot, but I did call my dietician and asked her about it. She said that it deals a lot with the hormones in your body and the way it is reacting to the new object in your body. She said the Biotin sometimes helps with that, but that hair should be back to normal within a few months after the surgery :-)

My nutritionist recommended that I take zinc daily to combat possible Hair loss post-op, in addition to the Multivitamin.< /p>
