Gathering All My Info For BCBSTX

Recommended Posts

So I'm gathering all my info for my surgery. I am so nervous that once I submit I won't be approved. I know my plan covers the surgery I am just hoping they approve me. I just wanted to know has anyone had to try a couple times before being approved with BCBSTX or have you been approved on the 1st try? Also could you tell me how much you paid out of pocket? Any info greatly appreciated.

I have BCBS and was approved the first time. I don't have the bills yet from my surgery. I did not have any copays prior to the surgery.

I have BCBSTX and was approved immediately. I paid $350 when I was pre-admitted to the hospital. So far, that is all I have paid. My surgery was 12/17 and I had already met my deductible and out of pocket expenses for 2013. I will be interested in the EOBs coming in for stuff like anesthesia and all those little extras that may or may not be in my network.

I'm hoping my out of pocket isn't too outrageous. My patient coordinator is still trying to contact BCBSTX to find out what I will have to pay but they still haven't set their policies for the new year! Ugh!!! I'm so ready to have this done. I know the waiting is the hard part but once I have made my mind up to do something it drives me crazy until I do it. LOL! Thank y'all for sharing your info with me :)

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
