dublinwoman 8 Posted January 8, 2014 Not long now until I fly over to Belgium for my operation. My consultation and operation with Dr Dillemans is on Monday 20th Jan. Really super duper excited but also very anxious at the same time. It is a life changing operation. I've booked my flights and booked with the hotel that was recommended to me by ISG. I quoted a reference and I got a discount with the hotel, which is 10 minutes away from the hospital. I am ready for this. I can not wait to get my life back on track again. 2 BigGirlPanties and 1Day1Life4Now reacted to this

1Day1Life4Now 882 Posted January 12, 2014 Dublinwoman, I know how you feel. I was originally scheduled for Feb 11th but now they have moved my date up to Jan 27th. What once seemed so far away is now looming at our immediate future. It is so exciting to think that life changes are right on the horizon and we will once again fit in to regular society and no one will be able to tell by looking at us that we have had to have surgery to control our addictions to food. Good luck to you and safe travels. Hope to see you on the boards post surgery.

bigirleurope 1 Posted January 28, 2015 this is too of a major operation to trust and allow people who only care about money to be in the middle !!! Making big bucks from this situation is beyond comment .... How can 1st appointment and surgery be in same day?? A lot of this doctors say 0% complication rate, of course! You are sent home asap. Whatever happens after is not their problem. Very bad and this requires serious media investigation

Very bad and this requires serious media investigation Actually, Dr. Dillemans requested quite a lot of information from me before he accepted me as a patient, and sent several questions about information I provided. If a patient meets the qualifications and is sure s/he wants the operation, I'm not certain why s/he would need multiple consultations. Your point about self-reporting of complications is accurate, though. I have never yet had a doc who sought accurate feedback about a procedure or followed up in a data-meaningful manner. Since I am in the field of applied research I find this to be quite a problem with the medical field in general. Dublinwoman, How was your weight loss? DId you lose all you hoped to? Any complications down the road?
