chocolate_macchiato 23 Posted January 8, 2014 So I thought I'd had heartburn for the past few months, but a recent scope revealed it is actually chemical gastritis. The doctor has prescribed medication to resolve the issue. Has anyone else had this issue? What was the outcome? 1 CBT reacted to this
JeanZ_RN 378 Posted January 8, 2014 What does the doc mean by chemical gastritis? What chemicals have you been ingesting (chuckle)? I mean, gastritis is gastritis, right? It's irritation / inflammation of the gastric mucosa. So once the meds get it resolved, you should be fine.

CBT 450 Posted May 14, 2017 Chemical gastritis is erosive gastritis commonly caused by NSAIDs. This types of gastritis causes ulcer-like lesions in the mucosa. Confirmed by EGD biopsy. There are actually a few types of gastritis. The other common gastritis is caused by H Pylori. 1 jersey0601 reacted to this
