Paper FINALLY Submited

Recommended Posts

So I got a call from the Hospital telling me that they are finally going to submit my papers to the insurance company. :D

Well about time.... Kinda, because now I am feeling Anxious and Scared and Nervous and Terrified. I have placed all of this, my concerns and everything into God's hands because I know and understand that I can not handle this by myself. :)

Long story short, Things just don't fall in place for me and this seems to be falling in place the way it is suppose to without the fight and struggle I am use to so to me it seems to be a set up for disaster... this is why I am so concerned and scared.... :o

:( :( Sorry for venting my family do not seem interested right now...

You are feeling what each and everyone of has felt want2b. This is not a surgery to take lightly. You must be emotionally prepared for the change in eating habits, and the lifelong changes all around. Keep reading and learning. Ask questions. Study. This surgery has changed the lives of me and my husband, and could not be happier. Good luck girl!

Thank you,

I have researched and studied this surgery since 2011 and started back then going to NUT visits then stopped because the hospital and my insurance then contract ended and I was not able to change my insurance plan at that time. I feel I am ready emotionally, mentally and physically I am tired of being FAT and the diagnoses of Type 1 diabetes of my 8 year old has me ready for this....

Thank you again Linda frm FL

You are on the emotional roller coaster almost ALL of us have experienced... take a deep breath and remember it is meant to be... the surgery is so much simplier now than it was just a few years ago! My sister had the full gastric, she (and my NUT, who had a full gastric) said if she could have, she would have been sleeved... you have done your homework...YOU'VE GOT THIS!!!!

Want2b, I am so sorry about your son's diagnosis. We know a positive young man, family friend, who has had type2 diabetes since age 2 and he is a working wonder. College, UPS manager, and his own landscape business. Inspires me. Diabetes is rampant in my husband's family. God will give you strength. I am with you, I am tired, very sick and tired, of fighting this fat. I want what years I have left to be peaceful, not a daily struggle with my weight and the health problems associated with being fat. I wish you the very best, and your child. Happy New Year.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
