what kind of scale do you have?

Recommended Posts

I notice that many of you record your weight right down to the ounce. I am curious to know which scale does this? Mine reads whole and half pounds only.

what brand?

why do you like it?

I use a Taylor brand scale that is rated for up to 450 pounds. I got it at my local Wal-Mart.

I have the aria scaled from Fitbit. It talks to my app, my fit bit, checks weight and bmi. I love it.

The scale I had before was not good at all so when I heard about the aria I got it at the same time as I got my force. What I like about it is that it's not only incredibly accurate but the tracking is awesome. I can see the ups, downs, stalls immediately and can correct my diet and Water intake to try to jump start things again.

The only thing is that it is incredibly expensive for a scale. But if it's in your budget, yes I highly recommend it.

I got the aria scale for Christmas and love it. There are other "smart scales" too like the Withings one. But if you already have the Fitbit it makes sense. I love that it can recognize who is on the scale and that it does body fat percentage. It also removes the urge to weigh multiple times a day because then it will update the website and MyFitnessPal multiple times a day and everyone will know how neurotic I am. LOL

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
