Had my 2 week appointment yesterday. He cleared me to excercise, lift, swim..etc..also can use lotion ands soaps and like on stomach now. I purchase something called Bio oil to put on stretch marks and scars..my sister recommended after 3 huge babies..I'm also worried about my skin as my stretch marks seem to me multiplying on my stomach daily...around my bikini area and thighs as well..I started excercising and do cardio and weight circuits to build muscle..other than that I'm gonna purchase a really good moiisturizer that supports elasticity ..and has Shea and Vitamin e in it..I don't know its much else we can do.

Six weeks.

Four weeks if I wanted to ride a recumbent bike or do very light aerobic exercise. Six for weights, etc.

Cocoa butter works for me. Staying hydrated. You probably should talk to your surgeon about working out and when they will clear you. Two weeks seem a little soon to me. You're still healing. Also, patience is key to skin. When I first started I had a TON of skin but it just took a month or so to bounce back. Not completely but it's MUCH better than it was at one point.

I walked...a lot...immediately after surgery. I worked my way up to 60-75 minutes on the treadmill.

At my 6 week follow up I was cleared for all exercise including starting to do light weights.

I didn't ask a Max..I'm sure you probably shouldn't take it to the Max..I did advise him that I had a training session and it would include weight machine circuits/strength training...and he was perfectly fine with it..keep in mind everybody is different..my surgeon is the associate professor of surgery at Duke..he was in and out in 45 min....minimal pain afterwards and my scars are teeny...having said that I have 100% faith in his medical opinion..but by no means do I do any major lifting that I wouldn't have been able to handle prior to surgery..just enough to be a little sore the next day...;-)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
