joatsaint 2,814 Posted January 8, 2014 (edited) First time trying it tonight. I didn't do too good a job of cooking it - split it in half, put the halves on a pizza pan and baked for 45 minutes... checked it... baked another 15 minutes.... checked it again... still not sure if it was done Took it out and let it cool enough to eat... still didn't taste like it was done. Put that sucker in the microwave for 15 minutes. Now it's done! Hit it with a little non-stick cooking spray, tossed it with some salt and pepper... little stringy bites of heaven! Frankensleeve approved! Edited January 8, 2014 by joatsaint 3 mommydaniel, planetheather and VSG AJH reacted to this
endless80 697 Posted January 8, 2014 Oh yeah, I usually cut into smaller pieces and roast at 375 for about 45 minutes and then fork off the "noodles". 1 joatsaint reacted to this
NMJG 1,266 Posted January 8, 2014 I split it in two then microwave it for 10 min or so. Adds some Water to the dish to create steam and cover tightly while cooking. The way to tell if it is done is when you run a fork through it, it shreds easily. A friend today suggested "hashbrowns" out of spaghetti squash. Cook it, then squeeze it to remove any liquid. Then cook it in a touch of hot oil or roast until crispy. Crispy sounds good, doesn't it? 2 BigGirlPanties and joatsaint reacted to this

Stacy_wls 135 Posted January 11, 2014 Where do you buy this? Do they call it spaghetti squash in the supermarket?
joatsaint 2,814 Posted January 11, 2014 I tried it in the microwave today. Wrapped half in cling wrap and nuked it for 15 minutes. It came out pretty good, but I think I like it in the oven because it comes out a little crunchier. the microwave way is best...quick and DONE... add some spaghetti sauce and turkey meatballs and you will be in HEAVEN!!! Yep, got it at my local grocery, they are pretty common. I've found them at both stores in my town and in Wal-Mart. And they are labelled Spaghetti Squash. I mistakenly bought a Butternut Squash - because I didn't read the sticker on it's side. Spaghetti Squash is like a small yellow watermelon, Butternut is tan and shaped like a bell.
