What NSV are you mist looking forward to?

NSV = non scale victory

For me it's being able to wear heels and more stylish clothes. I always felt it was hard to be feminine and morbidly obese. Carrying so much weight coupled with not a lot of clothing options just made me go for comfort. I'm hoping this changes this year.

I wanted to fit comfortably in an airline seat - I now can with room to spare. Like you, I wanted to wear high heels - on Christmas Day, I wore 5" sparkly heels! And I wanted to go dancing and shake my thang without being stared at - and I have now done that on a few occasions and LOVED it!

I am sure you will have many NSVs this year - enjoy every one!

here isn't one I'm particularly looking forward to. However, one happened over the weekend. I was shopping with my 23 year old daughter (who is a size 1 and I think maybe someone switched her with my real baby at birth or something) and I kept looking at size 3X tops and would try them on and she kept saying, "Mom you are drowning in those." She finally went and picked out some cute 2X tops and they fit beautifully. I guess I thought I was a 3X because I wasn't really fitting into the 3x's at Kohls before surgery so I thought they would fit now. Well, I was pleasantly surprised.

I haven't yet gotten my surgery or surgery date, but I am now 24 and just graduated this past year because of medical problems. I didn't buy a graduation ring because i was embarrassed to get such a high size to fit my finger. So hopefully when i do get this done i will be able to ware a ring proudly. This is just one of many thing i am wanting to get out of this surgery..

#1. Not having to wear shorts under my skirts! My thighs rub together something fierce so even on the hottest summer days i have on some kind of spandex shorts underneathe. it's so annoying b/c if the dress is close fitting you can totally see the shorts. Plus it's so hot and uncomfortable. I need some air up there (lol)

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
