Mrs.RRn 2,111 Posted January 7, 2014 So.... I'm nearly 7 months post op and I've met every one of my surgeon's weight loss goals so far (GO ME!!). But for some reason this next one scares me: 137 lbs. That's 13 pounds in 4 months. Seems reasonable... BUT my mind can't wrap itself around that number. I've never been my current weight (146), so can't imagine 130s!! And to top it off, people (even my cheerleaders along the way) have been giving me the "don't lose too much weight now!" lately. Or the "so when you're going to stop?" Gag. But the recent positives: - my surgeon seems very pleased with my progress and exercise choices. - my hair loss has slowed - and I really haven't had any big set backs or complications 7 planetheather, BigGirlPanties, JeanZ_RN and 4 others reacted to this
BigGirlPanties 957 Posted January 7, 2014 don't let them get you down...from our "before" to the "after" is a dramatic change...and to many people we look too thin (is anyone ever TOO thin) ... some may be worried about your health... just keep on going until you feel you are where YOU need to be! I know my Dr. wants me to lose more than my goal; but I know my body and I don't want to go that low... I am happy that I am now a "functioning" human being instead of the Jabba that I used to be... I have RA, so losing weight before surgery had been impossible and I had become very lethargic...now I can move!!! Don't worry, be happy... I would assume you are taking Biotin for your hair (and nails) it really helped me...it was coming out in CLUMPS!!! Congrats! 1 Mrs.RRn reacted to this

Hevnbound 51 Posted January 8, 2014 Originally, were you able to"wrap" your head around 146#?!? 137 is just another hop, skip and a jump. You can do that. The world is full of naysayers! I feel sorry for them. I am still early in the process. When I tell people about the planned surgery (2\13), I can see in their faces the thought; "why is he doing that ... why doesn't he just stop eating so much and do it himself?" And, ...A few have even said it out loud. Go with your doc's advice and just give the others, who are most likely well meaning, a nice smile and an assurance you will be smart about your own life. Great job! You are my first "hero" on this forum.(this is my 2nd post!!!) Sam 1 Mrs.RRn reacted to this
Mrs.RRn 2,111 Posted January 8, 2014 My Doc actually asked me, "Do you WANT to go any lower?" Um, heck yeah. Lol. I want to be as close to a healthy BMI as possible with losing any muscle. I know I'll have to go lower with those pretty scale numbers, I guess it's just a mind game. I got this.
