umrebel 13 Posted January 7, 2014 Looks like my surgery will take place on January 28th. The two week liquid diet begins next Monday. Any advice? So excited, but scared, to make this lifestyle change. 1 ElliottWasHere reacted to this
Carlotta1 401 Posted January 7, 2014 Keep yourself busy. Stay on your required two weeks diet, read bariatricpal everyday for support, minimize stressors, and if u believe in prayer. Pray that all goes well and that u have a speedy recovery. Happy for u. 1 umrebel reacted to this
Marykatherine 38 Posted January 7, 2014 Joyous day. Do what you are told by the professionals around you. Use this sight for support. Continue to nurture those who will support you. Clean house of all the bad stuff you can. Follow the diet. Be nervous, like the rest of us. And Celebrate the real beginning of the rest of your life. Yeah! 1 umrebel reacted to this
southernsoul 773 Posted January 7, 2014 Pamper yourself a bit before surgery. Have a mani or a pedi, buy a cute new nightgown or robe to wear in the hospital & at home the first few days, give yourself a little home spa day the day before surgery, etc. Being in the hospital & those first few days at home can be rough, so treat yourself extra special right before. Good luck! 1 umrebel reacted to this
umrebel 13 Posted January 7, 2014 How did you all deal with the preparation? I still want to be social and have lunch with friends. I'm comfortable only having Water while they eat. But how do you make others be comfortable around you? I have a great circle of friends and an awesome family. I just don't want to make them feel awkward or that it's wrong for them to enjoy a meal in front of me.

The support you all show for each other is truly awe inspiring.
