Late night sweet tooth, thanks mom!

Recommended Posts

Since I was a kid good ol mom would drum up something sweet right before bedtime. Well many years later I have that same mentality. I don't even feel hungry so I know it's all in my mind. I've tried the sugar free Jello cups and things like pistachio nuts but I want goodies like ice cream or Cookies, which I know is the worse thing I can do. I need alternatives!!! What do you guys do?

I make chocolate pudding from a Protein shake and Protein powder, then freeze in in ice cube tray so I have a 1 oz portion of "ice cream".

The recipe is 1 adkin chocolate shake and 2 scoops of chocolate Protein Powder. The mix has 60 gm of Protein and will fill 6-8 ice cube slots so there is 8-10 gm of protein in the treat. The texture is smooth and your brain thinks you are having a routine bedtime treat.

You can also let this set in the fridge and eat it as a pudding.< /p>

I haven't had surgery yet but when I was pregnant with my daughter I had gull bladder issues and spent my entire pregnancy on a fat free diet.... It was torture lol but my saving grace was sugar free pudding with skim milk. And I also found that if you peel and freeze a banana then put it in a food processor its got an ice cream texture. And if you sprinkle sf Jello mix over green grapes and freeze them they taste like sour candies.< /p>

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
