brandi77 2 Posted January 6, 2014 HI Ladies, Has anyone had issues with their period? I take birth control and had my period 4 weeks ago. I haven't stopped bleeding since then. No real heavy flow but spotting every day. My surgeon didn't have any suggestions. Anyone else having these issues or any suggestions? Thanks!

sleevethefatbehind 95 Posted January 6, 2014 I have an IUD and don't get a period with it. Well, I didn't, anyway! I have a light, regular period right now, and have for a couple days. I'm 2 weeks out from surgery! I figured the weight loss is messing with my hormones, too. Thank goodness for my IUD or else I'd probably be extra fertile right now. 1 ElyQuint reacted to this
tonic 1 Posted January 6, 2014 I am almost 8 weeks out. My birth control pills allow 1 period every 3 months. I've already had 2 since surgery, so yeah, it definitely messes with your system.
HeartOnMyVerticalSleeve 7 Posted January 6, 2014 I've had mine for 2 weeks already and I'm impatiently waiting for it to go away. Usually, mine last from 4-5 days but this is ridiculous. I'm glad I'm not the only one. I think it's my body going into shock but 2 weeks is a tad bit dramatic.
Rayna 4 Posted January 6, 2014 Hi, since surgery approximately 8 months ago, I've had a regular periods for 6 months, like clock work except it was 1 week late this month. It's quite strange actually as I was diagnosed with pcos and never really had a period. Now I'm dealing with all the "fun" bits that go hand in hand with regular periods. Small price to pay for hoping on falling pregnant ???? The general rule is that your hormones do change after surgery and weight loss. They also give you blood thinners (usually) while undergoing the procedure and that takes time to work through your system too. Hope you get sorted soon ???? feedyoureye 3,087 Posted January 7, 2014 Even though I was well into menopause, my Doc warned me to use double birth control, because your fat dumps lots of hormones while losing weight, and you can get pregnant!! I did not want to hear this at 57! 1 VSG AJH reacted to this
