Eyesight any differnt?

Recommended Posts

Anyone notice a difference in their vision? I kind of played about it last night, but my husband handed me his phone to read something and it was so blurry. I said to him must be because I've slept on & off all day. He said that a lack of nutrition. I just had my eye checked!!

Yes! I'm 3 weeks out and still not completely right yet. My surgeon said that every body system is affected and it is normal. I'm ready for this to go away.

My eyesight has gone down hill since the surgery as well... at least it seems that way. I finally went in and had my eyes checked and there was a slight decrease in my vision. I don't have any idea if this is related to the sleeve or just due to the fact that I'm getting older. Could be a bit of both, I guess.

I noticed a vision change after surgery. I didn't think to ask my surgeon about it (wouldn't that be silly. Actually using follow up appointments for asking questions. ;)...) at any rate, I got my eyes checked. I didn't wait a full year for the next chekup. My eyesight had changed a good deal. Was it the surgery or being 51. My eyesight has always been good, though.

Something to think about.

I was blurry for a week but the anesthesiologist warned me that the Scopolamine patch would do that.

Had my 8wk post-up doctor appt last week.

I told my surgeon my eye sight has been bothering me and super blurry, especially when driving at night time. He's having my blood checked and all Vitamins. He said I might be low on Vitamin A. Haven't gone to do lab work yet, since I have to fast and don't have coverage at work, but after reading your post, I'm also going to go buy Vitamin A in the mean time.

Good luck to everyone, be safe and thank you for sharing. : )

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
