No issues or complications!

Recommended Posts

I had surgery on Dec 30. I had no pain no gas no discomfort at all!! Anesthesia was my only issue. Once that was out of my system, it was like I had no surgery!! I can drink as much Water as I want with no discomfort. I am taking 85 grams of Protein per day, Wondering if the docs really performed surgery on me.....

Anyone else have it this easy or am I lucky? I'm starting to get concerned about no restrictions...

Lucky, I thought the same but found out the hard way. It was almost too good to be true! Be cautious and follow plan!

I did not have complications from my surgery and was able to take large swallows without any problems. However, I would suggest you slow down a little. You are newly sleeved and your body needs time to heal. Follow your doctors plan. As for the restrictions...you will start to feel the sleeve when you start eating solid foods.

I was the same way ! My surgery was 8/16/13 . And I had no gas issues , just anesthesia made me wheezy . Once it was out of my system I was fine . Drinking Water and fluids was not a problem !

I too had surgery on Dec. 30- but I have had a few problems here and there. The first few days I had horrible gas pains and vomited about once a day. Then after day 3 I have been great. I do feel restriction sometimes after eating Jello. I can drink liquid with no issue. Today, i began full liquid. I was a bit nervous at first but had no issues. So far, I've lost 16lbs since the day of surgery. :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
