No kidding,. I am only 5'2" but my husband was 6' and all my bf's all my life were at least that tall. My first husband was 6'3". I could like someone 5'7" . At least I would still be looking up. This guy looked so weird. Long body and really short legs.

I bet he is bummed. He was sure we were a perfect match.

Update!

I met someone on POF awhile ago and we have been friends for awhile now but we are definitely more than friends now. I am so happy. There ARE good guys out there online!

That's great news! Enjoy the fun newness of it all! I too met someone who seems to be a keeper on seniorpeoplemeet, and am really enjoying our dates so far. Fingers crossed for both of us!

I was on Senior Peoplemeet. I paid for 6 months but I recently hid my profile. I live in the middle of nowhere, so I can't believe I found this gem of a man in this little hick town.

Definitely fingers crossed for both of us!

I divorced in 2000, moved from Roanoke, VA to Seattle in July 2008. I met my husband on POF in 2009. We've been married almost 2 years. Good luck to you!

Did the online thing, I found nothing but broke or emotionally broke men.

Best advice : JOIN SOCIETY! Take up classes that interest you, join social activities that are fitness orientated, meet friends and you will get the " I have a great guy that I think would love to meet you "

Trust me these are the good ones !

Hi Ladies! I started an online dating site for people who've had bariatric surgery. It's totally FREE. It's just getting off the ground and will take awhile to build the membership but all sites started somewhere. Please feel free to join and tell your friends! We especially need more men. Over a million people worldwide have had some sort of bariatric surgery and that number grows daily. It would be great to find a boyfriend/girlfriend with the same interests! The link is www.loveafterwls.com

You should see if the owners of Bariatric Pal would promote you. I'm sure there are plenty of singles lurking on this site that are also looking for love in their personal lives.

Edit: just saw your post about the dating, too bad it can't be posted multiple times, like in the mens area for example.

I have spoken with Alex about this and I believe his response was that he's too busy promoting his own site to promote mine! He has graciously let me post here a couple of times.

I try to post in Facebook groups but oftentimes the admins don't allow it, which I don't understand. I made the dating site as a favor to friends who asked for it. It's totally free and I make no money off the site. The site costs me money.

New dating sites take time and I'm still hopeful it will take off eventually.

There is a singles group over at obesityhelp.com You could put up a post over there too.

I'd put one on the obesityhelp's main page too.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
