lark60 431 Posted January 6, 2014 I started eating fruit at about 4 months out. I use fruit nectar (2oz) in my vanilla Protein shakes to get fruit into my diet but only 1-2 times a week. I am 7 months out and still am not able to eat enough at my 1 meal to get to the fruit (protein first, then veggies, then fruit, then "treat carbs). I eat the Protein, then a bite or 2 of veggy and am full.

Halfpint1218 36 Posted January 11, 2014 Crazy to read this, I haven't even been sleeved yet but my nut has already told me that once sleeved I won't be allowed fruit for six months Bc of the sugar content. My entire diet seems so much more strict than everyone else's (no mashed potatoes or potato Soup, cream of wheat, etc after surgery). I'm definitely getting my fill of fruits now, preop. Lol You are not alone. I'm in the same post-op diet camp!
swimbikerun 1,046 Posted June 7, 2014 Would you all be interested in a forum where you could discuss vegetarian and vegan options without any pressure? We'd of course have an emphasis on getting in as much B12, Protein, etc. as possible but without the pressure thrown at us to have meat. I know I felt uncomfortable with my surgeon who always pushed those things or just Beans at me when I couldn't do them.
