I have one at Planet Fitness but I think I'll cancel. We joined the Wellness so we can use pool this summer. Did you do sleeve or RNY? I'm just a week post op but I can't wait to get back to Water aerobics at Franklin Rec. I miss it. My ultimate goal (one of them) is to do a 5k someday. But that is a long, long, loooong way off.

Oh no! That must have delayed your recovery a good deal. I had the sleeve too. Struggling to get in enough fluids and Protein but I suppose that's normal the first week. Hope you are on the mend. I'm here and close by if you need any support. This stuff isn't for wimps!

It took me a little while but I made it through just make sure you get the fluids in even if that's all you can get in that's why I ended up on picc line I dehydrated had never felt so bad in my life it was rough and no it's definitely not for wimps and definitely not taking the easy way out last time I weighed I was down 50 pounds so I'm excited

I believe so. Don't quote me but I was told that early in my journey. I've only been to one meeting preop. It was good but in some ways, I think this site is better.

Well it's been awhile since I have been on the site. Hope everyone is doing well. I have lost over 70 pounds since October. 29th. Have been working out at Anytime Fitness off of Kedron in spring hill. Love it and it is so clean and the equipment is really good. You can also get a trainer for around $10 a session. There is a support group that meets in Franklin that meets the 1st Monday of the month. I think anyone can attend even though it is done by Centenial. I am doing my 1st 5K in Franklin on April the 1st. Walking not running. I am excited. Let me know if any of y'all would be interested in getting together and do our own kind support group.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
