Since November 10th (there about) I've been at the same weight. Although my dietitian says we can't really call it a stall because I still see some changes in how things fit or the general feeling of my body itself, it certainly hasn't moved.

I feel like I've been doing good with food -- although I won't lie and say the holidays were not a challenge, because they were and I ate things that I maybe shouldn't have and did find myself eating "just one more bite" sometimes when I normally wouldn't have. I can try to tell myself that I did much better than I would have normally in the past before surgery/therapy but it still makes me feel terrible.

And I've got that terrible awful feeling of thinking "Oh god, maybe I stretched my pouch out and I'm screwed." The problem is, I don't know how to TELL if I did that. Even if I did, would it really take a few times of eating a little more than I should in 2 months? (It certainly wasn't an everyday thing).

I'm going to the gym pretty regularly, and I'm trying to force myself back into smaller smaller portions (and trying to get back into doing more Protein shakes, but OMG its so hard to give up real food, even if it is just a half cup a tuna).

I guess I just need to vent about it, but I am seriously concerned. I want this to work, this is for me.

Super frustrated.

Thanks for listening!

I think most of us are trying to get past the holiday treats and the extra things that we allowed. I did several days of liquids just to rid myself of the carb cravings. I only allowed myself extra things on Christmas and New Years Eve but that was all it took to mess with my head and make me want things I have long since died to. Hang in there you can get past it! :)

Do you still feel a good amount of restriction when you eat dense Protein? If so, I would say you've not stretched anything. My understanding is that it would take chronic over-eating to cause stretching. I don't think the occasional over-eating would do it.

Yes, I definitely do still feel restriction when I have denser Proteins. Sets my mind a bit more at ease to think of that (which I hadn't before).

Do you see any therapist in your area? It may help you wrap your head around everything.

I've seen mine every month for 8 years. She has done wonders and I would not have done this well without her.

I really doubt that you have stretched your stomach at this point. My surgeon also told me that it would take a lot of purposeful overeating for a long time to stretch your stomach.

Beach lover is right. Stretching is something that is not that easy to do. Our remaining stomach is mostly muscle. The part they took out is the stretchy part.

If a person is to blow it with a sleeve it would probably be by eating very often, not by eating too much at one time.

I'm having this problem myself lately and going to do the 5 day pouch test to try and get myself back straight!

Thanks for the words everyone. And yes, I do see a therapist weekly. Its helped a lot, but its long process of course.

The thing about stretching the sleeve is....it takes decades of over eating to stretch a regular stomach. The sleeve is the least elastic part of the stomach. That's what you have left. How much longer is it going to take to stretch that out? Way more than 2 months.

As inflammation from surgery goes down, our food capacity will go up...but not to the levels it was pre-op. Not to mention...as you said....dense Proteins cause that restriction to kick in sooner.

Thank you.

I really do feel better, I think I was just putting myself into a terrible worryspiral about it.

Stupid worryspiral.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
