The day that I got the sleeve, I decided to document my journey with pictures. I took a selfie each morning so I could see the changes happening in my face. The link to the video below is my progress report. YIKES!

Great pics, glad you posted it.the difference is amazing. I am 45 and I have lost 24kgs (52 pounds). In 9 weeks, not complaining but my triple chin has turned into a crepe jowel, did you use anything to tighten you skin or are you just lucky?

You are an awesome, AWESOME woman! I have taken frequent full body selfies in my underwear....probably wont be posting those :( should have thought that idea through more lol. But I suppose for me & my husband it will be interesting at least.

I loved your lessons learned statements. You speak the truth in them all.

Congrats! All your hard work has paid off!

Thanks! I did some research about tightening skin and have listed a few of them that I think have helped me.

1. Hydrate from the inside (drinking lots of water) and the outside (applying lots of lotion).

2. Don't use soap in the shower because it dries out the skin. Use a body wash instead.

3. Dry brush your skin. This one seemed a little weird but you get one of those back washing brushes at Walmart or wherever. Before you get into the shower, brush your skin with the brush. It is supposed to get rid of all of the dead skin cells.

4. coffee scrub. 3/4 cup coffee grounds, 1/4 cup brown sugar, enough olive oil to make it into a paste. Mix together and use as a scrub in the shower.

That's about it! I guess what the above didn't help with, luck filled in the rest. :-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
