joysdelights 24 Posted January 4, 2014 Hello Okies! My name is Joy and I will have my gastric sleeve surgery either late this month or early next month. Are there any more Oklahomans over 60s out there? I am very excited. I can hardly wait to start sitting on the loser's bench. My doctors name is Hamilton Le and I go to Integris Weight Loss Center. I also attend support meetings at Integris Hospital. Does anyone else?
tddonnell67 57 Posted January 4, 2014 (edited) I was just sleeved on Nov 6th by Dr. Hamilton Le. His program is great! I don't have a single complaint. 2 of my coworkers were sleeved at the same time by another surgeon in Norman and our experiences were very different. I honestly would recommend Dr. Le to anyone. Your in good hands. I'm only 29 but surgery was very easy for me. I changed into my clothes as soon as I got into my room from recovery. I got to go home the day after surgery. Very little pain or nausea. The worst part was feeling so weak for the first week and a half. I'm down 34lbs & have 44lbs to go. Good luck! ashly1119 1 Posted January 8, 2014 Im just now looking for a surgeon! Dr Hamilton is the only one in network with my insurance company. How long from the start did it take you to get a surgery date? does he make you do 3 or 6 months? 1 kar89 reacted to this
joysdelights 24 Posted January 8, 2014 I started this journey on 10-13-2-13. I will have my surgery on 1-29-2 014. I think this is about the average. Dr Le is the best though. I think you will like his program. He is very careful to cover all the bases.

It just depends how long it takes you to complete all the tests, classes, evals, etc. My insurance required 3 month weight management. He is an amazing surgeon. You can tell he is up to date on the newer surgical practices. For example he does the leak test in surgery before he sews you up vs after the surgery like most surgeons. He sleeved me on Nov. 6 2013. I'm down 37lbs so far.
shadowsmom 15 Posted January 27, 2014 I'm in Lawton Ok. Hoping for late February date but still have to do stress test, scope and then pre op stuff. I'm using Dr Dirk Rodriguez in Dallas. He did an RNY for my sister and a band for my niece. Awesome doctor and staff, I hate the drive but living in Lawton America we get to drive a lot! Just gotta chose north or south. Congratulations to all of you for doing this for yourselves. Wish you all the best
