Fill 'er Up!

Recommended Posts

Well I go for my first fill in a couple hours. :clap2:

Can't wait to get it done so I can find out what it is like and to see if there is any difference but I also just can't wait to really begin the process of loosing more weight. I have stayed the same the past couple weeks and I need a push.

Lucky you. I am hardly containing myself for my first fill. April 24th is much too long. Wish I had the money to go earlier. Let us know how much they give you and how you made out sipping your Water slowly. Doddie

Well I got my fill yesterday. As I thought finding the port was difficult. I had to push up the muscles in my stomach (who knew I had those) and take in deep breaths for the nurse to get it but hey at least I know how to find it now. Anyway it wasn't as bad a I thought but I didn't really feel anything because I think I was concentrating so hard on that crazy big needle. Anyway it went well and 5 min later I was up and out of the office. No biggie.

I can feel a difference though. I just had.4 (I think) put in but last night with dinner I was full quicker and I just felt tighter digesting the food. Hopefully I will see some changes on the scale from this but I know that it can take a few fills so I am not going to go crazy expecting big results just yet. I would like my ticker to move though so cross your fingers. :P

Well I am going to wait this fill out but I have the feeling that I will be going back soon enough for another. Feeling back to how I was before the fill. Not pushing things though cause I do not want to have another bad sticky episode like a couple weeks ago.

I know what you mean. I feel a bit of restriction, but I can still eat more than I should, and I have been feeling hungry again. I already have a fill booked for April 13th so hopefully that will dial me in a little.

I would like to make another appointment but I feel like I should wait. Well I think I will give it till next wed because then it will be a week and if nothing still by then I will go back and see about another fill.

I want to hear about this "restriction" that everyone keeps talking about. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
