Tiffaneyhoover 3 Posted February 12, 2014 Hi I'm from PA. I'm getting my surgery through Hershey Surgical Weight Loss. My surgery is in April. I had to do 6 months with my family doctor before starting the 6 month weight loss program. I was told that I had to lose 15% of my starting weight in the program. You won't be put on a diet per say but they expect you to eat healthy and make better choices in what goes into your mouth. Also they don't want you go go over your starting weight. The "diet" is to show them you are able to consistently make wiser food and drink choices. The weight loss surgery is a bonus too to lose weight you have to put in the work and effort or getting the surgery will not help you lose weight and keep it off in the long run.
