KeeWee 470 Posted January 22, 2014 (edited) Because my NUT went into labor and left all her patients hanging, seeking help from nearby facilities when she covers all 3 immediate vacinities, now my appointment has been pushed back AGAIN and I have to go to DC from Baltimore just to get my 6th and final appointment. I'm sure hoping to not get a bunch of issues and just move this thing right along..such a difficult and stressful process but soo worth it. Looking for an early March date!! I know it's a hassle, but in the end the trip will be worth it. I go 3 hrs to each of my appointments Bc the surgeon I use is one I really am comfortable with. It's all worth it in the end. Hang in there 1 KeeWee reacted to this
LivingForGod 111 Posted January 22, 2014 I have Aetna but I haven't submitted yet. My BMI is 50 and I have several co morbids. I keep thinking that I'll be approved without problems but you're the second one I've seen that was denied first. I will be devastated if I'm declined. Did you have co morbids? What state are you in? Sorry so late. Yes I have co morbidities. I have arthritis and moderate sleep apnea. I was denied because I gained weight during the 6 months weight management and they said it was not medically necessary. I appealed. I was not able to exercise or be active due to my back. I have arthritis and degenerative disc disorder and bulging disc in my lower back. So I had my pcp to write a letter, I wrote a letter and I got all my medical records dealing with my back as well. I also have PCOS. So weight gain comes with that. I got my records showing a VERY LONG history with that. Sent all that in and the denial was reversed. But my husband was approved with no problem. So dont worry you will be fine! Im in South Carolina! 1 CrazyJaney reacted to this
PurpleDiosa 13 Posted January 23, 2014 Had my first consult today, but if all goes as planned per my advocate, I should be able to get it done in March. Oh My Holy Cow. I have to set up my psych eval, hoping to get that done in the next week or so, all other appts are set for 2/10 (all day at the doctor's office for testing, nutritionist, the whole shebang done at once), then, as long as everything else goes OK, we can then submit to insurance. Keep your finger crossed! 1 KeeWee reacted to this
LeighAnneF 98 Posted January 23, 2014 My psych eval results are in and the surgeons office said they now have everything to submit to the insurance. She said it will be submitted by this Friday. Sooooo excited . The count down to approval begins 2 KeeWee and mirabb2002 reacted to this

It will probably be another month before I hear anything. I'd be so thrilled if I could get it done in Feb. best wishes to you!
Sherry S 103 Posted January 23, 2014 My surgery date is Feb 17. Things are moving so fast. I'm excited. Have 2 friends who had RNY so I have good support there. Have to start weaning myself off caffeine and diet soda. I go to Curves 3x a wk and walk in the indoor pool (there is one in my community). Now i have to try to loose 7 lbs.
