Condidering thigh lift and breast lift/augmentation

Recommended Posts

Had my sleeve April 3rd this past year. I'm well within my ideal weight, however I'm disgusted by the excess skin on my legs (mainly back oft thighs) and my breast went from a very full DD to a not so full C. I am considering the thought lift and breast lift/implants. I would like to know about how much this usually costs and the recovery time. If you've had it done, would you do it again?? Are the scars terrible? My whole hola would be, to be able to wear shorts and a swimsuit without feeling completely embarrassed. Any advice, opinions or suggestions are welcome. If I decide to do this, I'll be using someone in the Dallas area. Thanks in advance!

This is a good question!!! I am also considering this. I was recently sleeved on 11/25/13 but seeing the way things are going I think I will be the same position next year.

I have those concerns, but I am also concerned about loss of sensation. I'm just going to say it...loss of nipple sensation . That would be one hell of a trade off I think . Has this been an issue for anyone?

I did not lose nipple sensation but it is a risk. I was lucky that doc did my implants with just the opening around the aerial so no noticable scarring. My thighs were the unusual small lift, groin only incisions....so no noticable scarring. My arm scars are amazingly faded already and I am thrilled with that. Worst scar is lower body lift...it is red but not raised so I believe it willfade considerably. 3 months out and really good results.

Cowgirljane, so happy you have had good results. I am hoping for the same. I went on my first consult yesterday and went into the consult feeling very confident that he was the surgeon I wanted to use. However, after the consult I felt so frustrated. I don't feel like we communicated well at all together and almost felt like he couldn't be bothered with me :(

I have scheduled another consult hoping that I will feel more at ease. With the Dr who did my sleeve I knew the minute I spoke with him, that he was the Dr I would use. I am hoping I'll find the PS that will make me feel the same type of confidence. This is a huge decision and the after effects are permanent. It is important to me to know I'm making the right choice. Has anyone else dealt with these same feelings????

I understand exactly what you mean. Have you ever watched that show on TV "Say Yes To The Dress"

They get emotional and start to cry when they find the perfect dress for their wedding.

I doubt if you act like that, but you will know when you find the plastic surgeon just for you. I talk about this in my story (in my profile) when I am searching for my plastic surgeon. I searched for months!!!! I am sure you will find the perfect doctor just for you just like I did.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
