June 2013 sleevers, eating more?

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I was sleeved on June 19th 2013 and I'm down 96lbs, but I've noticed in the last month or so that I'm able to eat more and I'm kind of nervous about it. Anyone else experiencing the same? Is my stomach stretching?

Your stomach is not stretching. The stomach is a bit more relaxed now and it also depends on what kinds of foods your eating. If your eating sliders, you will get way more in there. Now dense Proteins, not so much... You have lost 96 lbs and that's fantastic! CONGRATS on your success! :P

I was sleeved on July 11 2013.

I think that I have always been worried that down the road I would be able to eat more I just measure to make sure I don't eat more. I stay away from slider food and stick to the Protein and veggies. I also drink hot liquid like sugar free hot cocoa or sugar free apple cider to keep the full feeling between meals. I guess I am in such fear of down the road and 3 years out that I believe that I just have to always measure and will continue. I made a promise to myself that if I did this surgery I would always measure and always work out for life.

I was sleeved June 7th and most of the time I am still limited to 4 ounces and sometimes if I luck out I can get 6 ounces in. I think during the holidays if we are eating things we don't normally partake in we have a tendency to think we ate far more than we actually did just from the guilt of it all. However, I also think we can handle sliders quite efficiently especially if we have a beverage with it. I did pretty good during the holidays..........I did let loose on New Year's Eve though!! Congratulations on the 96 pounds!! :) :)

Thx guys!!! I think you're right about the guilt. I'm also guilty of not measuring so I'm going to try to start doing so for my peace of mind

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
