excitedk 7 Posted January 2, 2014 Hey guys!! I'm just curious to know how long were you off or did you take off after surgery? I know everyone's recovery is going to be different but I just wanted an idea! I'm in nursing school & I also work. I don't want to have to miss too much time, but I willing need be. skinnyginny 128 Posted January 2, 2014 (edited) Hi excited! You are so right that everyone is different. I had my surgery as out-patient. I was in by 1pm and home and walking around by 7pm. I was sleeved on Thursday and worked from home the following week. I went back into the office the week after that so technically, I only took 2 days off. But, I was one of the lucky ones... I have had no pain or problems of any kind. The only thing I will say is when I did go back into the office, I could tell that my stamina was shot. By mid-day what little energy I had was completely spent. I overcame this by figuring out how to continually get little bits of Protein in all day long. Once I got my eating/drinking schedule nailed down, my energy was able to last me all day long and I've never looked back. Getting the sleeve was the best decision of my life! Best of luck to you! michelle68 46 Posted January 2, 2014 I work at a private school so I have 3 weeks to recover over Christmas break...but if I had to choose when I go back..I would say 2 weeks. I am 2 weeks post op today and finally feel like myself and feel like I can last all day.
Teachamy 1,042 Posted January 2, 2014 I have had 2.5 weeks off and am starting to feel better. I was very weak at first, and nauseous the first 4 days after surgery. So I would say, plan for the worst, hope for the best. (Can you do it while you have a semester off/summer?)

If I wait, I would have to start the whole process all over again. &8 definitely do NOT want to do that. I'm so close that I'm about to do a cart wheel!!
