RJ, that is a frightening tale. So glad you are on the road to recovery. I can't believe you don't regret it, however! What were your symptoms, and how long after your sleeve surgery did this occur? Thanks.

I mentioned my symptoms in a post above....

And no I would do it all again..I am not lying it has been a miracle for me to have done this and come this far.....The reason I tell my story is because so many people say I am soooooooo ready for this..And I know out of experience that you never are truly ready and you never know enough...The cards are dealt and and you lay them down as you experience this life changing journey.... :)

You are a walking miracle. You have stayed positive thru all of your trials and tribulations. You truly inspire me. I hope to have an outlook and attitude as you do thru my journey. ( I've read several of your post and comments)

May I ask you some questions? If so, my questions are below

How long after surgery did you start having complications?

are you able to eat now?

Do you exercise yet?

Are you feeling better?

How long are you post op now?

Where did you have your surgery? And your surgeons name?

Are you in the Dallas area ?

I started to feel unwell after 3 days...had the surgery Nov.6th 2012 and was in surgery on Nov.12th

I can eat and drink fine now...I have trouble with beef, white meat on chicken and pork..Other then that there are some foods I don't like and some I love like fish any kind of fish...

I walk as much as I can..I am hoping this spring that I will be well enough to hire a trainer to help rebuild muscle mass and exercise more

I am 13 months post op

Deippe N.B Canada

My surgeon was tops and treated me like a queen and never gave up on me..He and his team worked their butts to save me..And they did!!!!!!!

So no I am not near Dallas.... ;)

If you look at my profile you can see the surgeons name..it is French so I have trouble spelling it

RJ your are truly an amazing person and I too am very thankful that you have been kind enough to share your story. I pray that 2014 will be full of many blessings and healing. I did have some regrets after surgery just because I was overwhelmed with pain and not being able to take in fluids & oh and lets not forget about the gas pains. However, since I have been reading post on this forum I feel much better and thankful to have you all as pals :) :) :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
