Okay so it is 35 below here in the good old Maritime's Canada...The air is thick and the sun is shining...It is so beautiful here with the 60 or so cm of snow but when I took the dogs out my nostrils closed shut....

Now this is the thing...........No insulation anymore and so there fore cannot get warm...................

So far this is the only thing that I miss.....my insulation for heat..

I used to laugh at my string bean husband because he bundled up like an Eskimo all winter..and now.......me I look like his twin.........

Florida is starting to look good to me, hmmmm..maybe Arizona...........too much!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's way too cold. We are looking at high temps on Monday and Tuesday of around -15 here in Minnesota. I don't know how as a weatherperson you can go on air and say high and negative in the same sentence. I would wear shorts year round and this year I am also bundled up. Can't remember when I last wore shorts outside. Like everyone else here I have lost my insulation. Brrrrrrr!!!!

We are expecting quite a big snow storm today here in New York. A little bummed because I am into this C25K app which trains you to run a 5K and today calls for 25 minutes of straight running but can't do that with snow and ice on the ground.

As far a being cold all the time, I think of it like this- I think our bodies are burning more calories trying to warm us up. I think I read that somewhere that the body has to burn more calories when you are cold to keep you at around 98 degrees. So thats one good thing about being cold all the time.

Ha! The high temperature for the past week here in Minnesota has been around -3.

Monday our high for school drop off is -8. Not thinking I'll be standing outside with my 4 and 7 year Olds for that. I'd rather drive them.

I can't even imagine it being that cold! It only gets down to the low forties (between 5 and 10 Celsius) here in winter but even then I have really felt the winters since I lost the excess insulation!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
