How many fills did it take?

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering how many fills it took most of you to get to your sweet spot. And what could you eat until you got there, I am not getting full but I am watching what I eat. I have not gained any but I have not lost any either. I am starting to get down, I have had 2 fills now. Please give me some good news to boast my spirts!!!:help:

I recently had my 5th fill and so far it hasn't worn off. The previous fills were effective for a week or two, then the restriction eased up and I was eating too much and thinking about food too much. This one (fingers crossed) seems to have done the trick. Time will tell and everyone's different. There are those here who have never needed a fill, or reached their spot on the first one.

Good luck on your journey.

My first fill I went back to mexico for and it was 2 ccs and I had very little restriction. WHen I followed up with my new fill dr here in ny she said i was at 1.8 and now I'm at 2.3 cc's. And I seem to have very good restriction. The reason why I went back to mexico is because I heard dr's up here in the states tend to give 1 or .5 cc's per fill and I wanted to get proper restriction from the beginning and I think I made the right decision.

I have a 10cc band which holds 4.2cc. I now have 3ccs in it. It took me 5 fills to get to that level of sweet spot. I am never hungry and I'm losing weight now. Good luck.

I've had five and am not really there, but I am almost at goal weight so I dont really care much, lol. I've lost anyway through changing my bad habits and just using what help the band WAS giving me, even though perhaps to some people they wouldnt call it optimum.

I had good restriction at first for about 3 months and over time its lessened despite more fills.

It took me 4 fills. Really isn't about the number of fills, but the amount your doc is giving you. My doc was way conservative, but his PA did my last one "aggressively," and it is WONDERFUL! I have never PB'ed or even felt that I was going to, so I think I might be at the perfect spot...... the sweet spot. I would like to get just a teeny tiny bit of a fill though because I can still eat an entire piece of pizza. I might give it another month or so! Be patient! It does take time!

I have had two. I could not take more restriction. My surgeon told my hubby while I was waking up from surgery that the average for his patients was two.

I cannot eat very much before I get that FULL feeling. I know if I push it I WILL get that pain in my chest. After almost 8 months I recognize my signals. I hate it sometimes because I would like to eat more. I keep telling myself I like being small more. I still feel like it is a 50/50 feeling.

I still am a heavy person inside with a big appetite. My band keeps me in line.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
