VSG_Dec-19-2013_M-1972 5 Posted January 2, 2014 The absolute worst part of the process was pre-surgical intubation. It was done while I was awake due to the fact that I've got a small throat (inside). Boy, did that suck!! --- Its 13 days post-op, New Year's Day 2014. I just had my first meal. Scrambled eggs and mashed potatoes NEVER tasted so good. It was so nice to EAT rather than "drink" my supper. --- Read blogs. Search websites. Weigh options. If you know in your heart that you can't lose weight, take control by making a choice to have surgery. The Gastric Sleeve was what seemed like the best choice for me. So, I made a decision (like I have so SO many times before to lose weight), but this time it was different. I lost the weight I needed to lose pre-op. I overlooked my anger and discomfort and fear. I allowed the process to move along and I got the surgery. Now, I have been on a roller coaster of emotions. But, behind every negative emotion is real hope. I have hope today that I will be able to live life more fully with joy and opportunity like I've not known in such a long time. --- H.O.P.E. means "Hang On, Peace Exists" --- Keep hope alive for yourself. Keep researching. Keep questioning. Keep hoping. 5 Catherine707, RJ'S/beginning, Kindle and 2 others reacted to this
