I worked so hard to drink 4 ounces just so I can be released. I took the longest shower ever and I loved it. I was scared to get my scars wet but honestly it didn't bother me at all. I'm drinking white cranberry juice with Water because my mouth is dry and I haven't had any liquid in the last 2 hours. I am just hot hungry. My tummy is swollen but I don't feel pain unless I Stand too much. I am now laying on my bed and drinking and I love it. I might watch a movie or two whole I'm drinking. It feels great being home. Couldn't be any happier. I am so happy I am starting my New Years fresh. This time my wish will come true. I can't wait to see the weight come off. I happy to have you all here because 90% of the items I took with me and purchased all came handy. Thank you :) will check back tomorrow

Congrats. I went to take a shower last night and the hubby told me to wait until today, I'm terrified of getting my bandages wet because they have not bothered me. I to had to drink so much before I was able to be released and I couldn't do it. Now that I'm home I'm drinking fine :)

Don't be scared to get then wet. I was so scared but having warm Water on my body felt soooooo good. It didn't hurt at all. Nothing will happen trust me. I took a shower after 30min coming from the hospital. I feel great. I just miss food lol. Drinking sucks. I want to chew

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
