Hubby just told me I left my derrière in 2013, but he said he doesn't mind (as he smacked it)! Lol!

I had my surgery Nov 2012 and was in the hospital until Mid January. I don't think I was really losing while I was in there. Maybe 10lbs if anything so not exactly sure of my January weight but I lost 115 lbs total by the end of 2013.

Why were you in the hospital for 2 months? You lost an incredible amount..You must be thrilled!!!!!!!!!

I had a leak right after my surgery. I was readmitted within a week of my sleeve surgery. By then I was already septic with abscesses in my abdomen. Didn't help that my dr was out of town and while I was already readmitted, they didn't do the first corrective surgery for another week. There were a lot of bad decisions made by my doctor that delayed my care and recovery. It has been a long hard road and I am grateful for every day I am here. I spend a tremendous amount of time in the gym and still working towards my goal. While it didn't come easy I am happy that I have lost as much as I have and still working towards my goal.

You and i have something in common...both of us had complications with our WLS. I too had a leak which lead to me becoming septic...I was in the hospital for 5 months...13 surgeries and even now over a year later I struggle with my health....so I understand what you have been through....

I know this sounds odd but it is kinda nice to know that I am not the only one who felt that kind of pain and darkness through this journey.....

I too am glad to be alive...I almost died too.....

We lost a lot of unwanted pounds...................I looked it up and we lost: 50 bushels of soybeans weigh 3000 pounds. 1,200 pies also weight about 3000 pounds. Some elephants probably weigh 3000 pounds.

We rock eh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank goodness you made it! Did you have stents put in to fix your leak?I had NO clue I could ever get so sick from this and I am a nurse. Before my surgery I asked my dr about leaks and he totally under played it bc his record is so good. Which is why I picked him. It is nice to talk to people who went through what we did. It really took a toll on me and most people don't want to hear about the ugly side of what can happen. Over a year later I still have a lot of issues as well. My diet is 99% Protein shakes/ Protein Bars. About once a week I eat a few bites of real food. But overall it hurts my stomach and I feel icky after. But I am grateful to eat anything. I thought I would end up with a permanent feeding tube for a while. If you ever need to chat let me know. I am a good listener.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
