mike.alvarez 6 Posted January 10, 2014 Congratulations!!! So glad to hear your doing well. Today is 2 days post op for me and feeling bloated throughout the day. I am not getting hungry at all, but manage to eat a little something now and then throughout the day. Doing broth with a Protein Drink, in conjunction with some flavored water. Feeling a little discomfort from largest incision, but pain is very minimal...

XXShelXX 346 Posted January 10, 2014 Day 10- 211lbs I know this won't last forever but dayam!!! Dropping a pound or more a day is just unreal !! Weird thing is everything tastes off... Not sure if this is normal or not. Stuff I normally like tastes yucky now. Not that I've tried much but just the Soups I normally liked are ick. Took a sip of Starbucks which is normally my crutch and ewwww acidy and super strong! Didn't even want it. Only thing that tastes good right now is the refried Beans, enchilada sauce, and sprinkle if cheese. My peanut butter/choc Protein shake isn't too bad either. mike.alvarez 6 Posted January 10, 2014 That Protein Shake sounds pretty darn good. Where can I get me some of that? I'm only having that bland chocolate flavored drink and it's time for a change!!
LindafromFlorida 1,542 Posted January 10, 2014 ADD TO chocolate SHAKES: GOT MINE AT WALMART: PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter PB2 is made with premium quality peanuts that are slow-roasted and pressed to remove the fat. All natural with no artificial sweeteners or preservatives. Same consistency as full-fat Peanut Butter with all of the roasted peanut flavor, but with more than 85% less fat calories. Bell Plantation has succeeded at perfecting the all American staple - peanut butter. Gone are the days of denying oneself the pleasure of a PB&J sandwich because it has too much fat and calories. The perfect lunch item, snack, and kid's preference has just gotten healthier without losing any of the flavor of traditional peanut butter. Through a unique process created by Bell Plantation that does not involve the use of any chemicals nor does it alter nature's balance in peanuts; over 90% of the fat is removed from the peanut. Essentially the oil is squeezed out of roasted peanuts and what remains is a peanut powder. The resulting all-natural product is unbelievable. Two tablespoons of traditional peanut butter contains about 180 calories, while two tablespoons (approximately 12 grams) of PB2 powder, and contains just 53 calories. PB2 also contains approximately 40% Protein by weight. PB2 is a powdered peanut butter that can be reconstituted with Water or any liquid of your choice - juice, jelly/jam, or honey. Dip fruit directly into the powder, mix PB2 with a non-dairy frozen topping, make a milkshake or smoothie, or add it to a Protein Drink for improved flavor and increased Protein content. Mix 2 tablespoons of PB2 with 1 tablespoon of Water and stir until smooth. Can be mixed directly with jelly or jam for a PB2 and Jelly sandwich. Use your imagination with other liquids to develop your own unique flavors. Also, have you tried all the flavors of Torani SF syrups added to your shakes? Lots of options for us! XXShelXX 346 Posted January 10, 2014 Oh man I just mixed up a scoop if Protein Powder with two tbs of Peanut Butter. Smashed it all together with a fork and then rolled it into balls. Saw that on here one time. I had two balls and they tasted yummy then drank a glass of milk about 20 mins later. I know I'm supposed to wait longer but the peanut butter got me. I just got so sick off that! Idk why cause I've had the Protein powder and peanut butter several times. Maybe it clogged up in there idk but I don't like puking so no more. Ughhhhhh
Debstr66 8 Posted January 10, 2014 Last night I had a chocolate powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury packet with a container of Jif single serve Peanut Butter. Put that plus 8 oz of skim milk in my Magic Bullet and OMG that was the best drink ever. It was like drinking a Peanut Butter cup! It was a great way to get that dab of fat grams I was missing at the end of the day according to my food diary. Shel - try that rather than trying to take in a thick pasty peanut butter ball. I'm back at work today. Can't believe surgery was only 2 days ago. Haven't noticed any weight loss yet, I still weigh the same as Wednesday when I went to the hospital. I haven't had a BM yet though. Plumbing is working though cuz I can fart! Ha! (TMI?). For any of you having that painful gas bloating try the GasX strips that melt on your tounge. I needed one after the milk and peanut butter last night. Cheers! Deb

XXShelXX 346 Posted January 11, 2014 Deb- that's usually how I do it too but I was trying to shake things up a bit lol but the pasty texture just sat there like cement and I think the milk sat on top. Won't be trying that again for awhile lol back to shakes

The gas is stuck in my lungs and stomach it feels like. I'm only 11 days out and it really does get better. Well today wasn't so hot but days 1-7 were super hard to get fluids in. I'm still working on it. I just take my power aid zero with me. I think it was around day four that the pain was pretty well gone though. Had it all the way in my shoulder and back too. Hang in there better days ahead! It's just such a change with lots to learn.
