Usually i am "the hot one" and i do not mean looks -wise!! After my surgery 12/10/13, I have been FREEZING! I am typing this w/ gloves on! My surgeon said this was normal. Anyone else? Also, after many nights of going to bed w/ flannels, a hat and gloves, six blankets ( such a gorgeous site when you add in my C-Pap), my sister told me about something that has made me soooo happy! I am now the proud owner of a heated mattress pad! OMGAWD - what a difference! Run to the store now and get one if you too are cold!

I was also sleeved on 12/10 and am freezing too. I have the heat cranked up and wear layers of wool and a hat, and I'm still cold. I was always the one wearing shorts in the winter ...

Not me. It was in the 30s last night and I slept with the window open a bit, a sleeveless nightgown, and one blanket.

Its the lack of carbs.

I have a heated bed blanket. I sit on it, I sleep on it.

I would live in it if I could!

I live up in Minnesota, so I should be cold this time of year but it's been extreme since losing started.

I had to go out and buy long underware and wool socks.

I now just dress every morning with my cuddle dub long underware on under my jeans, wool socks on, a tshirt, sweatshirt over tshirt and then heavy wool jacket.

I'm still usually cold even then.

Evenings when the family is eating something I can't have, I escape to a hot bath. That's the only thing that warms me up all the way.

I'm cold all the time to. I have lost about 140 pounds since I started my weight loss journey. 88 since surgery. I am so skinny now compaired to when I started and I cant believe how good I feel but I really am cold most of the time. I hope it gets better but maybe I will more heat tolerant this summer right?

Happy new year everyone, be safe and happy.

I am just over 1 1/2 years out and I am always freezing. I laugh and say I lost all of my insulation. I usually start the day wearing layers of clothing and run a space heater at my feet. It's really hard for me to keep warm. I live in Texas where it's usually hot. I used to sleep with a small fan on me. Not anymore the more blankets I have the better.

My friend who had gastric bypass years ago complains she's always cold. Make that 2 of us now. As a vet tech working in sub zero temps, long underwear and layers is nothing new for me at work. But now at home I'm Always covered with a blanket on the couch and I've got something even better than a heated mattress pad.... A waterbed turned up to 95 with two blankets and a 100 degree English Pointer on each side!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
