How many calories are you averaging?

Recommended Posts

I am averaging just under 675-800 calories and my surgery was on 11/12/13. I was worrying that it was too much till I read this thread. Now I feel more comfortable about it. I am losing at a steady rate and I feel really good. My diabetes meds are gone and they halved my blood pressure meds. I am eating regular food as long as it is moist and I can chew it to a pulp. It is mostly an egg or cottage cheese for Breakfast, Soup or chili for lunch and a Protein and green Beans for dinner. I also have an unsweetened applesauce for mid morning snack and a yogurt (greek) for midafternoon snack. Trying to keep my Protein up. I have found that I can get in my fluids if I do it by drinking hot, Decaf green tea. It also helps with the air bubbles that I was confusing with hunger! Hope some of this helps! :D

Your doing great. If you need to up your Protein intake, Try some unflavored whey protein with your applesauce and yogurt. That will make it easy to up your protein.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
