How tall are you? I wore a size 12 when I was 150#, and a size 16 when I was 175#. I know they are just numbers, but I was curious.

I'm right at 5'9 maybe just a little less.

I know sizes and weight are crazy like that. Thanks :) I feel a lot healthier, if that makes sense. But in the mirror I still see myself as overweight....

I used to be a size 22 also I am now down yo 16 jeans and large top in 3 months was sleeved on 9/30/13 trying to get to size 10 myself congrats to u enjoy ur new body....... Any tips u have for us

You will definitely get there!! I wish I could say some fabulous words of wisdom, but it's all thanks to my fabulous sleeve!! I just listen to my body now. I try not to graze, and only eat when my little friend is truly hungry (which is never). I honestly wish I could say I hit the gym everyday but I don't want to lie. Now I do have a very active lifestyle and I have so much more energy now that I have begun my weight loss journey.

I'm a bit slower than you lot, sounds like, but I'm still on the right path downward, and comfortable with it all. I'm in (loose) 16 and large sweaters now, soon to drop to 14 in pants. I've lost 70 lbs since the beginning of July, and I still want to lose about 45 more. I suspect I'll reach goal right around 10 months out, maybe as much as a year. Hang in there, everyone!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
