I've been sleeved officially since Dec 27th 9AM Minnesota time yeah!!!! Not so much see I was so excited and self confident that this wasn't gonna be very painful due to the fact that I've gone under general anesthesia twice one of which was gallbladder removal laparoscopy and that I knew how healing would be I also thought I could handle this bumpy rollercoaster of emotional bullshit with food ya boy was I wrong!!!! My poor husband has really signed up for the huge unknown..I love him dearly and he loves me unconditionally he keeps telling me babe everything will be fine but all I can do is cry an cry some more.....I didn't do this for health reasons or vanity I'm reasonably healthy and he's always loved me an my fluffiness but we are both 34 yrs old an we've been trying for babies now for 4 1\2yrs ....he has a 7 yr old boy Leo I hate that I sound selfish I do love Leo I just wanna be a mommy for real ...now I sound like an ass....why did I do this to myself????

Jo, The 27th wow ok you were just sleeved! First things first, take a slow deep breath.... In......and out.....

For the next two weeks you should concentrate on two things only, and that is you and your healing. Now is not the time to start looking at the bigger picture. Keep it simple.

In time you will feel better, also it's ok to want a baby, lots of woman lose weight for the same exact reason.

As for being a mommy you can be a mommy to more than one child biological or not there is more than enough love in our hearts to give. Take care rest, walk, stay hydrated. And the rest will come :)

Oh Jo,

You did this to yourself to bring your body to a better place!! You are in the middle of recovering from a life changing surgery! You will have soooo many emotional hurdles to overcome ( most will be your own head games). Relax, let your body and soul take the time it needs to recharge & reconnect with your "new" self!!

Most importantly, just because your Husband's son was born from your heart instead of your belly does NOT mean you are not a real Mommy!!!! You LOVE him that is the only thing that matters

I'm a Minnesota girl. Maybe it's the cold getting to you too! We've been cooped up for a good 6 weeks now and that'll make anyone crack under pressure.

That said...emotions are high post op. Expect that for a few weeks. Allow yourself a time out mentally. My hospital time was my "vacation" as I told my husband. But it was real and scary until I began to feel better.

Deep breaths honey!! You'll be great!

One day at a time. It took my a very long time to get my THB (take home baby) so I know that feeling. Along that road I had several losses including the loss of a fallopian tube and almost my life. It was a very difficult road to travel down but in the end my daughter was all worth it.

The good news is that a lot of times with weight loss the body re-programs it's self and people who were once not able to get pregnant are able to get pregnant. Just the same, try and wait at least 1 year before TTC. I'm assuming you've been to an RE and were told there weren't any underlining problems preventing you from conceiving except your weight? I would bet in one year from now you will be so happy you had the surgery. Keep your chin up and remember, one day at a time. :)

Mn friend... The cold does not do anything for me that's for sure :) tiny house = not a lot of walking space more time to think about what I did....and drive myself crazy cuz I chose to stay away from damn near all my family during Christmas cuz of liquid diet and not wanting to explain everything then waking in the hospital with the worst pain I've ever felt..I never thought of myself as weak thought I had a high tolerance for pain!!! This experience has knocked me back a few..my hospital stay was not the best for me...I was left without pain meds for over an hour even after pushing the nurse button three times among other things I do not think I will ever recommend the university to anyone!!!

Ree...I was most definitely told that there were no other reasons for me not to conceive....all tho I do have a thyroid issue they never really pin pointed that they just said ya yep that could be a problem also oh and u could also have pcos but by the time we get around to doing an ultrasound there's only Fluid there an we can't say for sure....I've become more an more untrusting with the medical field lately... And then to be treated like a nobody in the first two hours out of surgery is not Kosher with me...that all being said now that everything is done and its basically all up to me to heal properly I'm very excited to see myself grow mentally if that makes sense...and become a healthy person to a healthy mom :)

Yes

I was told also to stay clear of those two Bariatric Centers as well....i am so sorry you are going through this and completely understand...

I will say, having struggled through it personally, that infertility (unexplained) was by far still the worst thing i endured....but really what turned out to be my problem was something very simple, that if i had just listened to my RE, i would have more children.....he told me repeatedly that i needed to exercise to get "blow flow to the uterus." For some reason i just took that advice with a grain of salt.....well the one month i decided to work out 75 minutes everyday.....i got pregnant with twins....go figure....hope you are working with an OB or RE that is compassionate because its a rough journey especially combined with this one.....d@m girl!

This described me those first few weeks! It truly is an emotional roller coaster that first few weeks. I promise it does get better! The head hunger is a killer and fools you into picking on everyone and everything without realizing it is you just adjusting to the new eating patterns and your recovery. Hang in there! Your future has just begun! :)

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
