Does straining to have a BM put pressure on your sleeve? Basically, can it hurt my new stomach. I'm guessing no, but I've really been avoiding bearing down out of (unfounded?) fear.

It hasn't bothered me. I discovered that eating pea Soup for dinner makes for a poop explosion the next morning. No straining required!

Straining does more to hurt your colon--try taking some MOM to ease the transition.

I found out today that me and spicy aren't going to get along well anymore. Experienced my first dumping syndrome today after ingesting some spicy Soup. Oy! Talk about bathroom issues...

Hi Harlemlooser

No your sleeve is safe. Your intrabdominal pressure will increase with straining but this is outside the sleeve and does not strain the suture area at all.
