Had my gastric banding surgery in April this year I've lost 15 kilos but that's it my weight will not move I can get in to see my surgeon for another 2 weeks. So my friend told me about duromine and Is it safe to take duromine while having the gastric band or is it a no go?

Sorry I've never heard of it. So it looks like you posted this about two weeks ago. Did you decide to try it or wait for your doctor appt?

Yeah I decided to wait for my doctors appointment

Duromine is a tablet that makes you loose your appetite and makes your heart go really fast they say it's the same effect as speed but it's only prescription

Ah I've been considering taking my pre-surgery prescription diet meds too. The physician that supervised mg diet said that was ok and I could go back to her even with the band. I haven't confirmed with my surgeon so I haven't taken it either. I can't wait till my first fill.

Jan 27. She waits 6 weeks to make sure everything is healed. I also asked is she preloaded the band in surgery and she said no :(. I'm so hungry and starting to go over my calorie limits.

Oh that's normal I was like that when I had mine it will eventually go down, just stick to the diet plan they gave you. I'm on lite n easy the 1200 Calorie one love it I recommend it after your allowed to eat normal food.

Don't be afraid to ask your surgeon questions aswell they're there to help you in anyway possible :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
